Walking into Melvin's Public House, you might feel as though you've stepped back in time. The boom-town style wood exterior is reminiscent of when Heber's primary form of transport was a horse and buggy. This saloon turned sports bar has most of the woodwork from the early 20th century, including the original back bar. You'd almost expect some honky-tonk piano music to be playing while you drink a beer out of a pewter mug. Instead, you get the old-world feel with all the modern amenities. For the residents of the Heber Valley, Dairy Keen is that burger joint. Owned and operated by the MaWhinney family for over 50 years, the Dairy Keen is a treasured restaurant. Beloved by locals and tourists in equal measure, June Pie's was voted by People Magazine as the best pie in the Beehive State. Owner Tehmi Brimhall’s childhood dream was to own a bakery, and the Heber Valley is lucky that she picked here to set up shop. Her pie varieties are inventive and delicious, with flavors like sugar cream, cranberry key lime, cookie butter banana, and pear chai. The local favorite is Sour Cream Lemon: a thick, buttery crust filled with a cross between a lemon custard and curd, and topped with a blend of sour cream and cream cheese.

After thirteen years of brewing beer at home, Clint Jones decided it was time to open up a brewery, and Heber Valley Brewing Company was born.
Clint and his business partner Greg Poirier built HVBC from the ground up, even welding some of the metalwork in their taproom. When you walk in the door, it will be Clint or Greg pouring you a pint, and they only offer a small selection of pub food like pizza-by-the-slice, meat and cheese platter, and soft pretzels. All this keeps their overhead costs low, so they can focus on making the best small-batch, handcrafted beer in the valley. Their success is evident, as the taproom is busy with beer lovers stopping in for a pint or picking up a 4-pack to enjoy at home.
