From Musty Tavern to Farm Fresh Family Place

It’s the first restaurant you pass on your way in and the last on your way out of the Heber Valley.  Originally the musty old “Other End” tavern has been fixed up and made into arguably one of the hottest restaurants in Heber.

With a fresh “Farm to Table” concept, they deliver with beef from Circle Bar Ranch, located two pastures behind the restaurant and organic, non-GMO dairy from Heber Valley Cheese from a few miles away.

A full bar allows cocktails to made and consumed.  Champagne, Whiskey, Long Island...you name it, they can make it.  If you are looking to catch a game or watch a sports event, they do have TVs around the bar top.  It’s not a sports bar though. It’s definitely more of a restaurant.

A few of our favorite menu items include the Back 40 Burger, Steak Frites, and Roadhouse Tacos.  However, they offer a wide variety of American Cuisine for your picky eaters. But if you are going to go big, I’d try the namesake burger that boasts local organic grass-fed beef, lettuce, tomato, caramelized onions, crispy pastrami, Heber Valley Creamery jalapeno bacon cheddar, special sauce.

The lunch menu has a few more sandwich options and fewer entrees than the dinner menu and they also offer Sunday Brunch with some egg offerings and french toast.

Back 40 seems to be consistently busy.  They offer agreeable sized portions and super fresh food.  The price is probably on the higher side for Heber but the quality more than makes up for it.

We recommend a date night or to celebrate a family special event at Back 40.  We especially recommend in the Summer or early Fall sitting outside on the deck to take in the rural pastures of the Heber Valley set in front of the substantial backdrop of the Timpanogos Mountains for an “Iconic” view of the valley.

The Back 40 Roadhouse Grill is located at 1223 N. Highway 40 in Heber City.  They are open 7 days a week. Their hours are Monday through Saturday from 11 am to 10 pm and Sunday from 10 am to 10 pm.
