Nestled in the beautiful mountain town of Midway is an eclectic little coffee house called Fill Er Up Coffee Station. Owners Millie and Roger Medby have crammed a lot of character into this iconic local hotspot, built-in an old garage from the 1930s. Large sock monkeys dangle from the high ceilings, pictures of customer's dogs adorn the walls, full-size mannequins offer napkins on trays, and half of a Volkswagen Beetle sticks out of one of the bay doors.
Their tasty menu is just as eclectic as their building. Spice up your morning commute with a mexi-mocha: espresso, Mexican chocolate, and cayenne pepper! If you’re eschewing caffeine, but still want a warm drink to start your day try one of their red tea lattes.
They offer a full breakfast and lunch menu, and all their pastries, quiches, and salads are made fresh every day in-house with local ingredients. Many of their menu items are gluten-free, including some of their delicacies, so there's no reason to pass over a sweet treat with your morning coffee.
The summer months find the Coffee Station full of locals and visitors alike clambering for their homemade ice cream. While your kiddos lick a scoop of cake batter ice cream, you can savor a more sophisticated scoop of pistachio or espresso. Customers are encouraged to suggest different flavors. Get onto their website fillerupcoffeestation.com to see their weekly ice cream specials and put in an ice cream flavor you'd like to try!
