It seems like every small town has a locally owned burger joint. A place to grab a cold shake on a hot summer day, or a quick meal when mom and dad don't feel like cooking. For the residents of the Heber Valley, Dairy Keen is that burger joint. Owned and operated by the MaWhinney family for over 50 years, the Dairy Keen is a treasured restaurant. Its endurance through the years is a testament to its great food and friendly service.
The Dairy Keen is always a buzz with hungry patrons eager to fill their bellies with delicious shakes, juicy burgers, and crunchy fries. Besides offering standard fast-food fare, they also have salads, sandwiches, and a gluten-free menu. Every fall, Dairy Keen has daily soup specials that have locals counting down the days of summer.
Dairy Keen doesn't just have great food; it's also a fun place to enjoy a meal. A toy train chugs its way through miniature landscapes made to look like local places. There's a small replica of the Hogwarts Express, with tiny Harry Potter figurines. One corner of the restaurant has a train and lego table to keep your kids occupied as they eat their burgers and fries. During the summer, the kids can even eat on tables and chairs made to look like a toy train. Dairy Keen truly lives up to its logo: Home of the Train.
